Grayscale Sui Trust Surges Amidst Tech & AI Market Boom
The recent surge in technology stocks, spearheaded by AI’s transformative…
The cryptocurrency landscape is awash in green today, providing much-needed solace to traders who witnessed a dramatic plunge in major assets, with losses topping 20% from Sunday into Monday amid escalating liquidations. In the midst of this broader market recovery, it’s Notcoin (NOT), a gaming token, that’s capturing the spotlight, not stalwarts like Bitcoin or Ethereum.
Notcoin, which debuted in May on The Open Network (TON) as part of a Telegram-based game, has registered an impressive 30% increase in the past 24 hours, now priced just over $0.012 according to CoinGecko. This surge places it as the top performer among the 100 leading cryptocurrencies by market capitalization over this period, although it remains down 0.4% for the week due to earlier losses.
The spike in Notcoin’s value coincides with the recent introduction of a new narrative game within the Telegram mini-app ecosystem, titled “Lost Dogs: The Way.” This game offers players a choice among three story outcomes, with rewards in in-game currency based on the decisions made. Additional bonuses are available for players who bring in friends and complete various activities.
Despite Notcoin’s standout performance, the resurgence is not indicative of a broader trend among gaming tokens. It stands alone in achieving double-digit growth over the last day, with other gaming tokens like Gala Games (GALA) and Immutable (IMX) seeing smaller increases of around 9% and 8%, respectively.
Notcoin’s rise notably outstrips that of major cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum, which have each gained just over 3% and 2%, respectively, in the same timeframe. Like meme coins, gaming tokens are known for their volatility, subject to sharp increases and decreases. Notcoin, in particular, has emerged as a meme coin within the TON ecosystem, adding to its speculative allure.
